I want to set a static Ip, but I haven't been able to, I have a macbook running mavericks, these are the router settings:

If I use the same address as the one on the router settings (192.168.0.1) it tells me that another device is using the IP and that I should try later, if I change the last digit as I did on the screenshot I posted to 192.168.0.2 , it doesn't work at all, what am I doing wrong ? :'(

Because the router the ip address pool starts from 192.168.0.10. to 199.

Your outside the setting. with 2, or up to 9 as the last digit.
Hint. Doh !

Outside Ip range. set in router.
Given out by Dhcp of the router, or assigning a client machine a static Ip address.

Right in front of you on the router config page.

Start at IP 192.168.0.10.

Oops :pt1cable: , after your explanation I tried with 192.168.0.11 and I got a message that someone was already using the IP, so i changed it to 192.168.0.30 still no luck :??:

I denabled "Private LAN HTCP Setting" , then procedeed to set the net with the manual settings and still no luck :/ , I tried again with 192.168.0.30

You can use 192.168.0.2 there is nothing wrong with it as long as it is outside the DHCP scope range.

You have the gateway set wrong. You need to put in 192.168.0.1 instead of that ipv6 address. You will also have to set a ipv4 address in the DNS settings also

I thought I could only set values starting with 10 for example 192.168.0.10 , 192.168.0.11, 192.168.0.20 after what you said "Because the router the ip address pool starts from 192.168.0.10. to 199.

Your outside the setting. with 2, or up to 9 as the last digit.
Hint. Doh !

Start at IP 192.168.0.10."

I was just copying the data that appears on the router settings website and pasting it on my macs wireless settings, there (on the router settings, the router address/ gateway address appears as "fe80::1" (and there's no way to change it right there on the modem settings ) should I just ignore it and write 192.168.0.1 ?

I was setting two ipv4 addresses in the DNS settings (on my macbook) , again copiyng the addresses from the router settings and pasting it on the wireless settings of my macbook

PS: I updated the previous post too, so you can understand better what I meant ;)

I think I got it now, it was just a misunderstanding, this is how I set the thing up, does it look ok to you?
