Hi. I recently bought Farcry 3 the other day and I was doubting my gaming rig won't run it well because I read reviews of people getting low 30's on Farcry 3. I installed it and I was getting good fps between 70 and 110 fps. I did experienced some minor screen tearing so I put V sync on and it was capped to 70 fps ( I overclocked my Monitor's refresh rate to 70 Hz from 60 with EVGA Procesion X V4.2.1 tool). Sometimes it will dip to 59/60 fps in some areas. Heres my specs:

i5 3570k
Geil 8gb 1866mhz ram
Gigabyte Winforce GTX 770
23 inch LG Cinema 3D Full HD LED
650 watt XFX Pro Series
Logitech Gamepad controller

I haven't overclocked yet but I will in the future if games become intensive.

Can you provide a screen shot of your settings and resolution? To me it sounds like your resolution is not set at 1080p. Far Cry 3 is pretty intense on the graphics. I was able to max it out, though, with no AA and DOF at around 50 FPS. On a GTX 550TI.

Sounds about right to me. I get about 10-15 fps lower than yourself with my 7950. Your gtx770 is a fair bit faster than my card. The problems you were reading about FC3 were more stutter related, and were occouring at unusal frame rates. If you were under 60fps at all, it would stutter like mad. You could be running between 40-60 fps and the screen would be skipping like crazy. Most people used programs to enable dynamic v-sync to fix the issue while they waited for a driver update. For the most part it is fixed now. I'm pretty sure it was an issue with AMD cards only though. It was fixed in their drivers about 6 or 8 months ago through the frame pacing updates.

I'm still interested in seeing his resolution. Even I have everything maxed completely out on FC3 with DX11 and I don't even break 60FPS. And that's with a GTX 670 FTW edition.

I don't have a camera to provide screenshots but I did cleaned my pc with systemcare before I played the game,oh I and one thing, I turned every setting up in custom settings, I am gaming at 1920 by 1080 resolution. How do you upload screenshots because I never did one before

If you have Steam you can find out what your hot key is. Maybe my graphics card is just that out of date now, or maybe I just haven't updated FC3 yet. You can also hit the PrtScn button to take a screen shot of your entire screen, then go into MS Paint, and paste the screen shot in there.

Well the Windforce OC gtx770 is faster than a 670 ftw, and he probably isn't running v-sync or anti alising if I was to guess. Maybe 2x AA like I use, and standard coverage. I use enhanced coverage now since the frame pacing is fixed, lol.

Even though its out dated, I have it set to some pretty compatible clocks to the 700 series. You said something about frame pacing. Was that something they had to update in the game? I think I have the original release from Steam on my computer, and it hasn't updated. I'd love to see game play of over 100 FPS.

Thanks, I will provide screenshots tomorrow,I also updated my nvidia drivers which probably boosted the fps. I put V Sync on because it was displaying minor screen tearing, staying at 70 fps.

The frame pacing was an AMD only issue I believe. In the months following the release, there were 3 or 4 driver updates that crept up the performance in FC3 on AMD cards. One of those updates added around 10-15% by itself. I'm not sure what performance enhancements were made by Nvidia through driver updates, since I own an AMD card. There was a couple of game updates too, but I'm not sure if performance was bought up by them though.

Some reading on the time of release of the game: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/far_cry_3_graphics_performance_review_benchmark,1.html

PS: You are most likely right about him not using AA at all. Those frames are a bit higher than what you can expect with AA on, according to the article. It's been a while since I benched FC3 and maybe I had it off too when I did, lol. Sorry.
