DVD drive is not working

I left the DVD drive open not fully open but just near the brim(ITS A ALL IN ONE PC) for 2-3 days and now it wont read any of my DVD it worked well and after i installed windows 8 with the DVD i left it open man is this a hardware problem please help the DVD starts to make a sound but the sound stops and is see a CD spinning in the top right corner of the cursor of my pc..please help

That's your problem right there.
Windows 8 does NOT play DVD's (nor VOB files period).

You need a program like Cyberlink Power DVD (or other player) to play your DVD movies.
