why does my Brother laser printer keep going offline
so, have a Brother HL-2240D Laser printer hardwire connected to an HP Desktop and shared by an HP Laptop. The sharing is via a wireless router which is connected to the Desktop and broadcasts throughout the house. I find that regularly, the printer goes "offline" from the Laptop, and by simply doing a "restart" on the Laptop, the printer reconnects. It seems like it will stay online for a while, but after an hour or so, it goes offline. Needless to say, it's annoying, because when I have a document to print from the laptop, I need to verify the online status and often do a restart before I can print. Both the Laptop and the Desktop are running Windows 7. Any help MUCH appreciated!

does the printer itself shut off?
could be a power saving mode.
nope, don't think so....it prints off of the desktop just fine
