I just bought myself a Corsair RM1000 to power my pc and cant get it to work. I have a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 motherboard and AMD cpu and no matter what I do I cant get it to power up at all, not even the CPU will spin. All the cables are correctly plugged in. I'm pretty new to computers so I don't even know if these 2 are compatible with each other.

Hoping someone can give me some advice on what to try

Thankyou

Solution
Check out the attached link and video and perform the 'paperclip' test. It is possible that the unit is defective.
Another test, if you can do it, is borrow a good, working psu and attach it to your PC and see if it boots, or if the case fans etc. even spin up
