I am building my first ever pc. I got everything connected etc. and was really nervous and excited. Then, I turned it on only to see a Blue fan LED flash for about half a second and go off. When I turn it on all the fans (gpu, cpu, powersupply and case) turn on for about half a second to a second an then turn off. The power led is still on but the computer isnt running or anything. Please help me as I am really eager to hurry up and use this beast.

Specs:
FX-6300
ASRock 980 DE3
8GB Ram (patriot 1600mhz)
Gigabyte GTX660
Samsung Barracuda 1tb
Tt Commander MS-ii
Corsair VS550
DVD Drive.

Thank you for helping!

Things that did not work!

1. I did try with only one ram stick and also put it in every slot etc.

2. I have redone this build 3 times and checked literally everything and it should all work.

3. I tried using my backlit keyboard but the lights didnt work so either the USB ports dont work or something else (the usb was quite a long way out though :/)

4. When I got my dad to screw in the motherboard (it didnt really sit right and the ports are kinda messed) he accidentally did it so that now 2 standoffs are literally stuck.

5. The VGA port on the motherboard is male and so is the one I am using and there is no DVI port.

They are all the things I have done etc. and I still don't know the issue (I think 4 may have contributed to the issue but that happened on the second rebuild and the first one came with the same results.)

I can't get the motherboard out of the case, as stated in my post it is stuck also, I have tried it out of the case before but I couldn't get it to turn on.

I think I may know why now.

I put the motherboard in the case and then the standoffs and screws in ontop of it. however I think I am suppose to put in the standoffs and screw the motherboard over them
