Hey guys I've recently built a new computer and I'm encountering an issue I'm having trouble fixing. Running with a minimal build of just the CPU, and with one stick of Ram the system will power on for about 30 seconds to a couple of minutes and then turn off. It will then turn on and off. Then it repeats the delayed shut down. I've been working relatively static free but not wearing a wrist band. I hear that memory can often be an issue with asrock boards, what would I be looking for with a bent pin in a memory slot? (besides the obvious) thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Hey so I'm back home now where I can hopefully give some more detail. I've currently got the stock cooler installed and a Dell ultrasharp hooked up via a VGA cable but I'm not getting it to run BIOS. I did apply my own thermal compound arctic mx-2 so might check that's still working while I wait for responses

Right sorry should have posted that. Intel i5 4650k mother board as stated, 2x4gb crucial ballistic ram 750W coolermaster, and a gtx 760 from msi. It's currently mounted in a corsair carbide

Well as I sit here installing windows ill tell you what I did so someone can nod their head sagely and say of course that's what I should have done. I took the motherboard completely out of the case and laid it out on its static bag on its box. Plugged it all in and pushed my ram in firmly making sure to push it in on both sides which I don't think I hadbeeen doing previously (i thought I had been careful but it might have been I simply couldn't do it inside the case) this made it POST a BIOS! Then installed it very carefully and its now working like a dream. I don't know if it was the ram or a short circuit from how installed it but I'm not sure I care! Thanks for the help guys!
