So, ive just got a new GPU. a Asus GeForce GTX770 2GB + another PSU corsair a860i.
PC SPECS:
-MB: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35
-RAM: 2x 4GB XMS3
-HDD: 1TB
-CPU: Amd APU A10-5800k
-Boxed cooler
-OS: Win8.1 64bit

So i booted up a game to test this Gfx card out. and i played ANNO on "High" settings and i only got like 55-65 FPS, what worried me. I tried every other game even WoW on max and i didn't even go over 35 fps. Does this has something to do with the fact that my CPU is an APU? And that its AMD? And if i would switch to an i5 intel CPU, would it optimise my GPU and my gameplay?

Thx in advance,
Shawn.

Solution
I hate to argue but Avocade is incorrect, the APU IS the problem. A APU is a low power, low end, low cost combination CPU with GPU 'All in one Processing Unit' (APU) by AMD to compete on the low end 'general user' marketspace (i.e. Grandmal sending email and checking for her favorite recipe online) NOT FOR GAMING. It is choking the poor 770 ability to perform.

Yes the normal 'gaming model' starts at the AMD FX-8xxx/i5 core level and then up to the i7 core, for 2013 games and forward. If you plan to stay with older games, then you can drop down to a AMD FX6xxx, but forget performance for games like AC3, BF4, etc.

Not sure on AMD products, the Accelerated Processing Unit should not inhibit your GPU's performance. Lets try some some steps before you go dishing out money on a new Motherboard and CPU. First have you updated to the latest official drivers from Nvidia.

You have to go new Mobo no matter what. Your chipset is for APU design not 'swappable to any AMD' CPU. Personally I would just walk down to Walmart, for $349 grab the off the shelf i5, swap the PSU out and add the GPU, done. You should be normally 1080p, 50FPS, high settings in BF4 with that configuration easily.

As for this PC hand it down, return it for your money, or sell it for $200 to a neighbor. Be your only options.

No argument instigated heh, like i said I'm unsure with AMD products.
