I have a Z68 motherboard and have Windows 8.1 x64 installed on ACHI mode on an SSD.

Now, I did the following:

Changed in BIOS ACHI to RAID.
Installed 2 4TB HDDs and configured them to RAID 1 via the Intel utility.

Now, when I try to boot my PC from the SSD I get: "select a proper boot devide"

The following are true:
All the HDDs are correctly installed and cables are OK.
Even when I tried changing RAID back to ACHI the SSD didn't boot.

Solution
If it's not wiped, then hooked it backup to the way it was before the HDDs was installed. Then boot from the Windows 8 disc and do a repair.

Look at your boot menu and see if you have an option for Windows boot loader. I messed with my hard drives and ended up in the same place as you, and setting the ssd as my boot drive didn't work, but loading from the Windows boot loader option (which is on the ssd) worked for some reason.

Thanks guys. I removed all the drives and leaved only the SSD. STILL doesn't work. Also, I don't see any bootloader anywhere. My motherbaord is ASUS P8Z68-V PRO

I have only one boot option and this is the SDD.

Connect the SSD to either SATA Port 0 on the motherboard. Do not connect it to the 3rd party SATA controller, connect it to the Intel one. Check your manual to see which SATA ports belongs to Intel.
Change the SATA from RAID back to ACHI.
When you where setting up the RAID with the 2 HDD, did you happen to select your SSD too?
If yes, then it might have been wiped out during the RAID configuration.
