I have just mocked up the following build for my new workstation. I am a statistician using a 4 processor version of STATA on Windows. Fairly large analytical datasets, so my main need is speed and ram. I don't game. Otherwise, productivity software, etc. Money isn't tight, but don't want to throw it away either. This system is $1800 out the door without monitor.

Thanks!

The build looks great and will work well for your intended use. There's nothing wrong with your Corsair PSU. Corsair is one of the best PSU manufacturers in the business. Certainly right up there with the brands (Seasonic & XFX) suggested above.

The only suggestion I really have is to ditch the Arctic Silver 5 compound. There are better performing, non-conductive compounds available that don't have a cure time.

Great build and good choice of components. Here are the things that I would change:

- There are better PSU for the money. Go with a more trusted brand in power supplies such as Seasonic or XFX. My recommandation would be a Seasonic X Series power supply.

- No graphics card ? I don't know what you are planning to do with this build but I think you'll need a GPU for sure.

Thanks. Going to work off of integrated GPU. This machine is for statistical analysis/data processing. No gaming. No watching video. Unless adding a discrete graphics card will otherwise help with speed, I'd rather put that money elsewhere.
