Hello,

First time build. Wanted to make sure I could get the mobo to post before I put it in the case so I breadboarded it. With 24pin & 4 pin both connected Psu fan & Gpu all power on but heatsink fan spins for 5 seconds & stops. Along with a blank no signal screen. Ive tried with just one stick of ram and same result. Thought it might be a bad aftermarket heatsink so i installed the one the cpu came with and same result. Read somewhere that the bios needed to be updated to support the chip, even though it says AM3+ FX ready on the box. So i bought a AMD Sempron 145 Processor (SDX145HBGMBOX) so i could get it to post and update the bios but I got the same result, heatsink spins for 5 seconds & no signal.

Im out of ideas. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

MMmm... did you try the one stick of RAM in different slots? Then try the other stick as well? Also did you try to 'force' a error by not having the RAM or CPU in and see if the Mobo beeped out the right error code. IF the mobo won't do that then the Mobo is broken. You can unplug power from wall, then unplug battery from Mobo, wait 10 MINUTES. Plug in battery then power to wall, can you get the Mobo to beep error? If not yep DOA MOBO.
