A few days ago i installed my new i5 3570k (stock clocked) and the next day my gpu stopped exporting video. I let it sit for a while then the next day it worked again, but stopped. I changed out the Gigabyte 7950 for a gt 630 i had sitting around, and everything works now. Before everything stopped working, i kept getting the Display driver has stopped working and recovered notification. The only thing the description of it referenced was AMD. I cant decide if it is my psu or my gpu or what that stopped working, but if anyone knows please respond.
PC SPECS
i5 3570k
asus p8z-77 lk mobo
1 50 gb ssd
1 1tb hdd
8 gb ram
650-700 watt psu (i will look up the exact wattage and name of it soon)
Previously a 3 gb Gigabyte HD7950, Now a gt 630

Were the old Radeon drivers removed entirely? I wonder if that may cause some issues.

What would the drivers be called? i cant seem to find them

FYI, I would do the following: Go to Programs uninstall both NVidia and AMD stuff. Then download and run Driver SWEEPER, to REALLY remove both (even uninstalling won't get it all). Reboot, should be in VGA mode, then go download the latest drivers, I believe both are in Beta. You can check all your drivers for all components with SlimDrivers, though don't reboot till you update the last driver.

i think this is the wrong thread?

OK! so the gpu actually displays images now, it just wont run games worth crap, the display driver keeps crashing. Do i have to rma it? I have read reviews about gigabyte's rma service and im not really looking forward to waiting a few months for my card back.

I have had experience with gigabyte RMA and I can say I was satisfied. Yeah the best thing to do is sent back your GPU.

go to windows updates.

No the OP stated he /she changed from a 7950 for a 630. Then noticed the only thing referenced was AMD. So me it sounds like there is cludge in the drivers in the background. If you don't use Drive Sweeper or a similiar program that really digs for drivers, the OS will keep fud up. Hence the instructions.

i had already uninstalled the old and new drivers then reinstalled the new ones, but it still didnt work. And i used a program called display driver uninstaller to get them out. The gpu was still bad
