I am trying to decide on a motherboard for my new gaming computer. Initially I thought of the ASRock z87 Extreme4 but I'm wondering if that is the best I can do. My CPU will be an 17-4770k and my GPU will be a Gigabyte 770 2GB Windforce. I want this computer to last for as long as possible so I'm looking for a durable motherboard that is also fast for gaming. Ideally I don't want the cost to be more than $150 but I can go over a bit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Solution
1. Save yourself $100 and use a i5-4670K instead. Few games can use more than 2-3 cores, so the i7 hyperthreads will be mostly unused.

2. All Z87 based motherboards are reasonably reliable and will do the job.
How fast you can oc your cpu is determined almost entirely by your luck in getting a good chip.
Expect 4.0-4.4 with a conservative oc on air.
