How to create a Windows 8 System Recovery Disk?

My Windows 8 Laptop cannot boot. I don't have another windows 8 computer (This one is Windows 7).

I tried making a system recovery disk on my windows 7, but the laptop wasn't compatible (What I assumed).

I saw this link:
Which had a solution, but I couldn't figure out what he meant.

The only other way for me to get a system recovery disk is to buy it for 60$ off lenovo which I think is a total ripoff.

If there is a way for me to make a system recovery disk, I would be grateful to know how to do so. I have a USB, I have DVD-RWs, but I just dont know how to do it or if its possible

EDIT: So I have friends that have windows 8 but we dont meet again for another week at uni. I was wondering if installing ubuntu could work at this point? And how would I go about doing that?
