Hi guys i'm new to the forum i just purchased a new pc here's the specs:

Processor Brand AMD
Processor Type Phenom Quad-Core
Processor Speed 3.40 GHz
Processor Count 4
RAM Size 4 GB
Computer Memory Type DDR3 SDRAM
Hard Drive Size 160 GB
Hard Disk Technology HDD 7200 rpm
Hard Drive Interface Serial ATA-300

Mobo MSI 760GM-P21

I installed all drivers from the motherboard disk and i am running windows 7 64 bit

I am using on board graphics and after around 40 minutes i am getting BSOD...I thought it might be an overheating problem but i used a program and it says the processors max temp was 24 degrees c after the computer had been running for an hour or so

Under device manager, all drivers are installed correctly

I have had 5 instances of this so far and the computer has been doing some weird things such as failing windows updates and reverts changes then the updates are ready to go again at shut down and my mouse stopped working at one point too so i swapped it for a usb mouse instead of ps2

Here are the BSOD logs:

I have taken a shot but it has cut off the left hand side....

The memory could be faulty

but more likely is that the memory controller on your phenom is supposed to run with 1333 MHz memory . If the memory is running faster than that it could be causing the problems
Which is why you go into BIOS and set an XMP profile for a maximum speed of 1333 MHz

Hi outlander thanks for your help so far...In the bios, all i could see under memory properties was currently running at 1333mhz/667 mhz and i pulled up a list to select manually and the list didn't even go as high as 1333mhz....However, i have purchased drivermax and updated all of the drivers and now instead of getting BSOD the computer just restarts itself on occasion...

P.S - I also understand that the main causes of BSOD are drivers, overheating, insufficient power or memory problems...

With regards to temperatures, i downloaded SpeedFan and got a very high reading of 127 degrees c so i found which chip it was and its Chip F71808A on the ISA bus at address $E80 whatever that means!!!! :)
