And you will find that the only way to log in now is into the first account created, Whether it is an administrator or a standard user, windows will be stuck in Safe Mode. The 8.1 preview has expired and the machine will BSOD every two hours. You must now install all updates and get into the Windows Store to purchase 8.1 which means adding a [method of payment[CC#] to Microsoft Passport or Wallet or Live.com or whatever they call their signin.
The 8.1 trial has expired. You have been gutted.

You will find that all of your data is still sitting in its User directory and the folders are still accessible from an administrative account. Try as you may, you will not be able to see any but the oldest account and newly created ones. I have decided that logging into the windows Store is no longer a priority for me since required encryption is now nonfunctional. Two hours on the dot between BSODs is enough for me to do anything except download multi_gigabyte files but those can be restarted. No automatic things like realtime virus protection nor virtual processing like VMware will run so I turned off the security nags and do scans manually. I do not care. The forced reboot, colection of dump and logging into my wireless only takes seconds so I am okay with that except for the canned responses that I should turn off startup programs to speed up boots which I have turned all off already. Youtube videos still play and I can pay bills online. I did however, run compatibility scans on all running executables per Task Manager and set them to windows 8 or lower. But this PC is set up how I wanted it and I created a new administrator account and copied files from the disappeared ones which do no longer appear on the logon page, demoted this old one to a standard User and removed its password to speed up the process. I can later switch accounts from the upper right corner of tile page after startup.

BTW, you will find that all the preachers out there are peddling their sfc-scannow and system restore and driver-firmware-bios update tactics, all which are useless for this issue and in the case of 64 bit Restore and Fixit binaries, unusable. Even my HP's built in factory recovery options have been rendered useless. Luckily I installed Powershell IDE and anything I want will now be done through this Control Panel Administrative Tool and group policies since NET USER, CMD lines, etc. are now impotent and ineffective. First order of business will be disabling access to the Store, which more than once led me to an external website to download programs anyway.

BTW, If you own an HP with AMD Radeon, you should have to update ATI video drivers or you would end up with a black screen after 8.1-RT installs. If you have an SSD hard drive it will need its firmware updated or risk random BSODs. USB hubs could 0x000000fe . I have a feeling that MS is hiding behind a kind new blue screen to MAKE people update their Win 8.0 compliant but Win 8.1 NON compliant components before finalizing the purchase of 8.1 ! I do NOT even care to configure a pause in the BSOD to see the code created for this indignity nor review the Event Viewer. Skip it and get us back on fast at 32 bits. Firefox is great about remembering typed text in a box after the reboot. I am coining a new meme for this pickaninny: B$O;D / B$OD
Your PC ran into an error. Just wait a moment while we collect some information, then we will reboot your =)(/&%$#"!° for you. So unprofessional. I am turning off the dump if I can, also.

Well, I have aired my ire. My younger sibling is an IT at Weyerhauser mills and asked me to write a scathing report in a conspicuous area, so as a longtime reader of TH it turned out pretty mild, considering. This topic should be locked and closed. I have not desire nor experience to earn points writing a howto as the 266 Mhz Pentium II CPU cartridge that we overclocked to 300 failed to move to HTML5 when Google Frame left it saying [Piii SSE hardware extensions needed insufficient to play video] Must get one to play YT videos nowT_T
