Hi everyone. I have plugged in my R9 280 on my P5N-E SLI and I dont getting any signal to the display. Is my motherboard to old for this?

I was so eager to plug it in so I have not install the driver for it but i had AMD CATALYST installed before i pluged it on to the motherboard.

Any ideas. My cable between is DVI to DVI.

Check for a bios update. Maybe that might be it.

Ok. But i dont even have anything on the screen when the computer boots up to windows.
I have checked so its well connected to the PCIe. And its getting its power, the fans are spinning.

Do you have an older graphics card lying around or whatever you were using before so you can use your pc?

it shouldn't be. Did you update the bios? It's backwards 3.0 can go into a 2.0 slot.

I have the latest update 1406. But i noticed that i have a SLI selector card on the mobo and thought maybe that can do the mobo confused or something. Its set to SLI singel card.

I did get it to work for a while. I posted a new thread about the card getting overheated and that i dont get any signal now after the overheat.

I installed the drivers and restarted and then i did get overheat and the screen whent gray with white lines in it and now when i start the computer i dont get any signal att all but the fans on the graphics card is spinning.

Chould the card have been broken because of the overheat?
