Is your drive set to IDE or AHCI in BIOS, if AHCI it may want the drivers for your mobo, will want to down load them from the mobo site and put them on a flash drive and direct Win to the Flash drive

What's the difference between UEFI and LEGACY mode?
Can someone tell me how I can solve this problem because I was aiming to format my drive. Thanks, Adam.
I had the same problem upgrading from Windows 8 32 to Windows 64 using the OEM disks. None of the stuff below worked, i chose the options under advanced to delete all partitions, basically re-formated the drive, and it worked. Delete everything (drives) in advanced options and it should work. Just back up everything first. Windows 64 bit needs a virgin hard disk and re-formatted in 64 bit format.
I did faced the same issue While installing Windows 8 on my system but thanks to the following website which solved my issue within few minutes....You can also give it a try and I hope it works for you as well...
