I have an fx-8150 running on XIGMATEK Dark Knight II and my dead idle temp in a cold room is around 40c running stock clock at 3.6Ghz. It maxes out at 55c on full load.It's stable at 4.0Ghz but the temps are too hot for my liking at full load. I feel like I should be able to overclock more with this aftermarket cooler.
Should I have a lot lower idling temp for that processor? Did I not get a good seat on the heatsink, should I apply thermal compound and reseat the heatsink?
I have a corsair 650D running 3 case fans and an overclocked 7970 Ghz at 1.2Ghz if that has any effect on your answer.
