So i had a faulty ac adapter that i just got replaced.(battery still dead). My cpu was clocking max 798 mhz. its now running at normal speeds but as soon as i open any basic game the laptop heats up. Within about 10 seconds the cpu and mother board screams to about 85 degrees and i stop the program before it goes higher. Why is this happening i'm using balanced power settings.

The laptop is a dell xps 15 l502x
2nd gen Intel core I7-2630gq processor 2 Ghz with turbo boost 2.0 up to 2.9 ghz
8gb shared dual channel ddr3 memory
1366x768
Nvida geforce xt 525m 1gb and—
intel HD 3000-------
750gb 7200 rpm SATA hard drive
I use windows 7 with updated drivers
