Why is my OC Failing?

Hey guys, here are my specs first of all:

MoBo: ASRock Extreme Z77
CPU: Interl i7 3770k (OC To 4.5GHz)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB
RAM: 12GB
PSU: Thermaltake 850W

Problem: I'm very new to GPU Overclocking, I'm taking it very slowly and with baby steps, but before I even got going I got stopped.

Right now my GPU Clock Offset OC is at +148MHz & My MEM Clock Offset is at +248

I don't mind having my fan at 100%, really doesn't bother me.

But if I go any further, Furmark locks up after about 1 minute, but here's the kicker, the temps NEVER go over 58 degrees.

What gives?

Also OP, please dont OC your memory once more... You'd end up damaging it, the 680 you have is called a 770 with HYPER speeds of Vram. I can pull 1250MHz/6085MHz on air barley for benching, and I have a slower memory 7970. Adjust your GPU clocks first then do your GPU. If you push your mem too far, then you'd see little lines flickering. If you OC your GPU too hard then the heat may start to become unbearable and you'd soon start to notice colored lines blinking and begining to take over your screen. I just want you to know that the 770 is already pushed kinda far :D

I must just be too inexperienced. The bar goes up to +2000MHz on Mem Clock and +1001MHz on GPU Clock Offset, It made me think my OC was just hilariously bad

You might have maxed out your power limit - I don't own a 770 however with my 780 ti the max power limit is 106%
To get a higher limit you need to change your bios. Download afterburner or evga precision and check the statistics.

Oh wow... My max higher power limit is 120%. I'd probably mod the bios on that thing. - Amd fanboy with ASUS DC2 7970

Thanks man, I appreciate the advice! So, leave the Mem as is, don't move it any further, got it!

What about the GPU Clock Offset? Should I continue bumping that up?

I use GPU Tweak 2.2.1.4 because it unleashes all my software unlocked voltages(amd only). Hmmmm.... So if thats adjusting core clock, then first head to 1200MHz and raise your Mv in increments till things become stable. In order to test stability of an OC, then run furmark like earlier or use some 3DMark. I have had experience with gigabyte nvidia cards before, and generally the most stable OC is what they provide you with. Your stock boost clock is 1189MHz.What are you using to OC also.

*add, we have the same PSU! Thermaltake TPG 850W PSU! :D

EVGA Precision X, Linus Tech Tips had a great tutorial using it, so now I do as well lol. Is there any good way to test if my GPU is running at 100%?

Whenever you are running a game, and your temps are superb, then GPU boost 2.0 kicks in. Just run afterburner OSD and read the GPU clock in-game. BF4 block most OSDs, so try another intensive game for the check.
