Hello everyone,

i'm a newbie to all these stuffs and i have no idea how to do it. First let me tell you about my comp spec:

motherboard: MSI 970A-G46 (MS-7693)
CPU: AMD FX 6300
GPU - MSI GTX 760 twin frozr 2gb
RAMS: Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB DDR3 1866
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo.

So, i went into BIOS and turned on OC GENIE II mode but my computer will run for a few minutes before it gets a BSOD (it went up to only around 3.7 ghz i believe), and i had to turn it back to normal mode. Was it BIOS that i was messing with? ( i restarted my comp and spammed my DEL button). So how do i suppose to OC my cpu without all these crap features that my motherboad has offerred?

Thank you.

OC genie sucks...You want to O.C. manually by upping the voltage and Ratio as well as turning off all power saving features.
Also, do you have aftermarket cooling? You do need it in order to O.C..Nmind you edited it with the cooler.

I'm so sorry about not mentioning about the aftermarket cooling, i updated my post. It's a hyper 212 evo. Could i use the click2bios software from MSI to manually do it? or i have to go into the actual bios? Thanks

Go into your bios turn off turbo core, turn off cool and quiet turn off core performance boost if you have it cpu unlock disable c 1 e support disable apm enable go int your clock ratio example if it says 15 bump it up to 16 and reboot do it in slowly let the system run test it bench it then reboot go back in turn ratio up again example from 16 to 17 till you get a crash back it off a setting or 2 on the ratio and your set.

I got my glasses on!
Go into the bios
TURN OFF TURBO CORE
TURN OFF COOL AND QUIET
TURN OFF CORE PERFORMANCE
TURN OFF CPU UNLOCK
TURN OF CIE SUPPORT
TURN OFF APM
THESE MAY ALSO BE LISTED AS DISABLE AS WELL IN YOUR BIOS

NOW YOUR CLOCK RATION EXAMPLE IF ITS SET AT 15 EXAMPLE 15 X 200 = 3000
INCREASE IT TO 16
SAVE AND EXIT SETTINGS
REBOOT
RUN YOUR PC TEST IT
BENCH MARK IT
STRESS IT
IF ALL GOS WELL
GO BACK INTO BIOS
CHANGE THE CLOCK RATIO
TO EXAMPLE 17 INCREASE IT LITTLE AT A TIME
UNTILL YOU CRASH
THEN BACK IT OFF A SETTING OR 2
hope this helps....

Ok, i think there are some different settings in my bios; for example, cpu ratio or cpu nb ratio, which i have no clues of what's going on. Here are all the setting: from click 2 bios which is the samething from the bios.

and this.

Its better if you go into the bios and do it manual that way the settings are set and stored I wouldn't count on the software versions to work as well.
