Seagate 2TB Expansion Drive hiding my files

So recently I bought a Seagate 2TB Expansion Drive. After using it for about a week I realised that all the files in it were gone but the containing folders weren't.

Ex: I have a 100GB folder called "Games" when I went into it it said this folder is empty.

I re-booted and all of the files were back until about 10 minutes later when they disappeared again.

Now it seems to be a game of chance whether they will be there or not.

PLEASE HELP :(

In my personal experiences, your problem could be resolve in these three ways:
1). Try to unhide these files.
According to your description, your files may be hidden anyway. Try to show them all up again:
Start => Run => Type in "control folders" and press "OK" =>Click "View" and hook "Show hidden files and folders"=> Press "OK".
2). Scan your drive with antivirus tool
Sometimes, the virus also would hide the files and make them invisible for you. So, just try to do antivirus scan on your computer. (You should take care not to delete some needed files in the process.)
3). Restore your files back by using a data recovery tool:
This problem also could be caused by the hard drive problems. So, if you want to rescue these files, you'd better try to use a file recovery freeware that always could help retrieve the inaccessible files back, such as 4Card Recovery, Recuva and TestDsik.
Next time, never save all important data on only one drive or places.

Although it's hard to know if any of these has worked right now, You have given amazing instructions and they were all detailed.
