This will depend (quite specifically) on the RAM module itself, and what clock speeds to supports. Generally speaking however 1600mhz RAM will support at least one lower speed, you just won't be able to take advantage of the RAMs potential speed. What's the model or your RAM? Usually the manufacturer spec sheets will often (though not always) tell you what speeds it supports.

Keep in mind that while it will most likely support a speed that the motherboard supports, it may not support the motherboards fastest speed (in this case 1333mhz).
