Hi. I have this big problem. I installed my card and did get it to work, did get the latest drivers and i restarted the computer and the heat went up, the screen did get gray with white lines in it.

And now when i restart i dont get any signal to the display.

Is the mobo or the card damaged?

I was at the store were i bought it and they connected it with HDMI and got an image.
So i did the same when i got home and nothing. So i turned everything off and went to bed. And this morning it worked. So the computer was on for a hour or two. And turned of itself-

So now when i turn it on the screen is black, Can it be something wrong with my monitor? Have tested DVI to DVI and HDMI from card and to the monitor that has DVI.

I have a 500 W powersupply, can that be it? Gigabytes homepage say i must have 600W.

If you are running an Intel CPU or an AMD APU, you may want to disable the on-board graphics that are built into those chips via the BIOS. Your motherboard might be trying to output via integrated graphics. This happened to me in my first build and I had to disable it and make the GPU the sole video output.

Ok but the strange here is that my motherboard does not have integrated graphics not what i can see. Also i am not seeing anything when i am in BIOS even. Chould it be the monitors connection thats broken? But if that was the case it should say that its not getting any signal. It worked when earlyier this morning.

Do you have another GPU on hand to test? That would be the best way to check and make sure your monitor is not the issue.

Also, do you know what kind of CPU you are running? This would determine whether or not you have integrated graphics.

I have been testing with another GPU and it works with that. The CPU is an old dual core pentium.
Maybe there is something with the motherboard. I check the temp on the GPU and it was as highest 75C.

Try clearing CMOS and see if that helps.

I will test this. But then when I have been reading on Gigabyte they say that I need a 600 W power supply and that it is required.

But i have a 500 W so can that be one of the problems besides the CMOS theory?

Now I did get a brand new R9 280x from the store and the same problem occurs.
So what should i change, the mobo? its 4 years old so maybe its time, or the PSU.
