I7-950 @ stock for gaming 2014

Hi, i have an old I7-950 CPU and an intel DX58SO motherboard. i am wondering if this CPU is still good enough for today's games and probably the incoming games this 2014. And also, what modern CPU is on par with my i7-950 today?

Should still be fine for gaming. id say its equal to the current 4-6 core amd fx chip. beating the intel i3's in multi threaded performance but loosing in single threading.

It is completely fine for gaming, there is not a single gpu that would need more at this time.
