What is the most trusted driver updater?

I don't use driver updaters because I'll trust my own instincts and official postings before I trust something 3rd party. With a laptop, you get the drivers from the laptop manufacturer's website as opposed to the website of the individual manufacturer, i.e. if you have a Lenovo laptop with an Nvidia graphics card you would go to Lenovo's support page for that laptop rather than Nvidia's driver page.
Anyway, here's the rule of thumb with drivers: Only get a new driver if something isn't working. Beyond that, if it ain't broke don't fix it. In other words, if you have a sound card that's working just fine be it when you plug in speakers/headphones or you listen through the laptop's built-in speakers, then don't update it. This goes for all drivers. The only exception to this is graphics drivers. If your laptop manufacturer's driver page allows you to update your graphics drivers for that laptop, then do so.
If you're doing a clean sweep and you reinstalled your OS and such so you're unsure what drivers you need to get, then the ones to really update are LAN, WLAN, and graphics, and perhaps audio. Beyond that you really shouldn't need to update any other drivers.
