This CPU isn't suitable for modern games, and it will really bottleneck above graphic cards, there is no sense of buying them for that cpu. You should firstly upgrade your processor - depends how $$ you have to spend, but the best would be some balanced set. Even modern Intel 2-cores Pentiums and slower AMD block the full potential of such gpu in most games.
Of course if you gpu is really old then you will see difference, but still most games will be unplayable cause the heavily depend on cpu. if you will ready any benchmark comparison note what CPU they are using in it.

What all of you don't realize is that I've had that CPU and the 8500 gt card for a long time, I've been using it for 5 years. I'm surprised it's still alive. I've beaten CoD games on it, from CoD 1 all the way to MW3, hell I've even beaten Arkham City, Skyrim, the new DmC and the new Tomb Raider on them, ofc on extremely low resolution and low settings but I couldn't really afford anything until now. Any sort of improvement I'm sure will be noticeable, will give me some enthusiasm to build a new rig. I"m definitely getting that Radeon 7750. And I'm gonna do the new build after that, definitely using the radeon for the new build. I just gotta wait for some more money that I can spend. Plan on getting the FX-6300 and some nice 8 gigs of ram. As well as the GA-970A-D3P mobo. Should last me a year or two of decent gaming, by decent I mean above 20 fps :D until I get a decent job and can really spend some dollars.
