okay, first of all, i have a Gateway DX4870-ub308.. intel core i3-2130 3.4ghz. 64bit dual core processors 3mb L3cache. stock PSU 300w.

now it came with intel HD graphics built into the motherboard. but my brother who owned this computer before i did bought a Nvidia GT610 gfx card for it.. and it ran fine.. but one day, i decided i wanted to see if i can try to run 2 monitors, 1 on the onboard gpu and one on the gfx card.. and then i forgot what i did exactly, but it wouldn't display on either card anymore.. then i took out the gfx card and i got it to work on the onboard gpu.. then i think i must've deleted something or something but i turned it off and plugged in the gfx card and now they Both don't work.. i've tried everything.. even when i take out the gfx card and reset bios and try to just run on the onboard gpu, it still doesn't show anything on the monitor.. even took everything apart and put it back together, and still no picture..

it powers on like normal, beeps and posts and everything, but just no picture.. i think i might've messed up the bios to not read either card now, or else i might've messed up the motherboard..

please help!!

Have you tried each the RAM modules independently? I had the same issue and I found that one of my ram sticks was causing my computer to not boot. One question. Do the lock button lights turn on when you push num lock or caps lock? And does your mouse's red light stay on? If they don't, then this is not just a video issue and is probably an issue a faulty component on the board, a chip has gone bad, or something else.

okay.. sorry.. the pc is still dead and sitting there.. i haven't had time to mess with it.. but it still won't turn on correctly.. the CAPS lock and NUM lock does stay on and the mouse light DOES stay on as well... tried the single Ram stick but that didn't change it either.. i am honestly stuck right now and about to just go buy a new motherboard..

My last idea would to remove the board from the case, remove all the parts from it, including the cmos/bios battery. And let it sit for a day. Then, put everything back together, just not in the case, and then try booting it.
