Hi,

I am wanting to build a PC for use with the following applications-

Autodesk Alias,
Autodesk 3ds max
Solidworks
Rhino
Keyshot
Maxwell
Maya
Adobe after effects
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Premier Pro
Google Sketchup

I have pretty much decided on the parts that i want to use and would much appreciate advice, suggestions and opinions on the final build to make sure i have everything right and it will be a good machine for the applications i am looking to use.

This is the build-

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor (£188.40 @ Aria PC)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£23.90 @ Ebuyer)
Motherboard: ASRock H87M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£60.00 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston XMP Blu Red Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£96.59 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£118.79 @ Amazon UK)
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN851ND 802.11b/g/n PCI Wi-Fi Adapter (£13.14 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: Sapphire Technology AMD FirePro W5000 2GB GDDR5 DVI DP PCI-E Professional 3D Graphics Card (£339.91 @ Dabs)
Case: Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 MicroATX Mini Tower Case (£64.98 @ Novatech)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (£57.67 @ Dabs)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer (£13.18 @ Scan.co.uk)
Operating System: Windows 8 Professional Student (£49.99 @ Microsoft)
Total: £1026.55

I am still unsure whether i should be getting the w5000 as listed or go for a GTX 770 4Gb so would much advice on the GPU front. Also, any suggestions for a monitor in the £200-£300 range would also be much appreciated.

Cheers

I would go with DDR3-2133 memory instead. It should be the same price and is the sweet spot in terms of performance/value for Haswell. You also might want a storage drive, something like the Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue is a great choice.

Have you checked your program requirements? Things like Autodesk can make use a gaming GPU and there is a lot better value in that market. I would go through all the programs and tally up which cards are best suited for each, and then figure out the card that best addresses the most programs.

As for a monitor, I would go with something like this: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/dell-monitor-m2gcr

Cheers for the reply.
I have not found any DDR3-2133 memory that is the same price as 1600 memory could you provide a link?
I will add a HD drive in good point. Cheer for the suggestion about going through my programs and making a tally. It looks like im really not going to be gaining that much from getting a w5000, I think im just going to get the 770 4gb and save the money.
Cheers for your help.

What would you say the main reasons to go for the GTX over the Firepro are?

Damn that's annoying. The reason i thought about getting the extra Vram was for when i load up larger and more complex models on CAD. I also thought it might benefit rendering large videos.
