Sure, np. And yeah, I love 4800x1200. I think the triple 1080p setups are just a little too wide and short. I also think that 1920x1080 should have been thrown-out in favor of 1900x1200. Vertical pixels are very important. Now if only we could mix resolutions and do a 1900x1200 in the middle with 1600x1200 monitors on the sides : )

Well here is a comparison of the two options: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1064?vs=1072

The 2 x 770 beat the 780ti in most things. But remember you will have added heat and noise using the 2 x 770s. So from a pure performance perspective, the 2 x 770s is a winner. But that performance advantage is dependent on the game supporting SLI. Alternatively, from an elegance/simplicity standpoint the 780ti is a sweet card.

Whatever you do, be thankful your gf is so exceptional that she'll buy you a 780ti!!!

well i would plan on sli the 780ti in the long run im just wondering what would be the better way to go and if the 780ti 3gigs of ram would be enought vs the 4gigs on the 770 and lol im very thankfull i know i got a keeper. and i know the 770 sli would out perform thanks just really wondering also is 729$ worth it

It depends on how good the game works with SLI. But generally-speaking 770sli wins. Given the two choices, my personal, subjective opinion is to get the 780ti and sell your 770 to try and make up some of the massive price difference. I also have a 4800x1200 setup, and I think the 3gb vs 4gb won't be a problem.

Very nice. Make sure to continue looking around until you are ready for purchase. There are probably additional models being released and I imagine there's a bunch of reviews to read. But yeah, a 780ti is sweet. My 6970 is still chugging along and I'll probably keep it for another generation or so. It's still getting the job done - I can still play everything, but with reduced settings, which doesn't bother me too much.

see that was my thought exactly on the 1080p mons plus ive heard that 1080p is more of a tv res then a pc game res. and that idea sir is brilliant!

oh yeah ill keep looking i got 3 weeks till i buy on the dot. but i like that one cause it does have a back plate if you look for the ghz edtion on newegg you will see it but newegg is sold out but amazon has it. and the main reason i was even looking at the 780 ti other then her buying it lol was i wana be future proff till the 900 series or 1000 series i want to be able to keep those for a 3+ years and when it drops i will sli

now i think i read that my psu the rm850 will be enough for 780ti sli.....what do you think?

Yep, based on the reviews I've read, a typical system with 2 x 780ti needs an 800w or higher PSU, so your 850w PSU should be fine.
