I recently upgraded my RAM from "Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz Blue 1x4GB" to "Corsair Vengance 1600MHhz Black 2x4GB" and when i turn on the computer the computer tells me that their is no RAM installed, this is a feature of the motherboard it never reaches POST.

The current Ram on my motherboard (The one that is working) Comes from a set of 2. The 2nd Stick was faulty, but my motherboard runs the ram at 1333mhz to stop it from erroring.(Dont know if this helps)
The New ram came to replace my old set and was meant to replace it. the ram is from the same line of memory ( the old ram is 1 year old), yet the older version works (at a slower speed then intended).

The current specs:
Asus z87-Pro
Asus GTX780 Direct CU 2
Intel I7 4770K
Evo Laps 700w 80+ Bronze
Samsung Pro Series 840D 128GB SSD

I use the computer for gaming and game server hosting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I think I might have figured out what might be going on, according to the Corsair part number "CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9" I find this memory listed on Newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233144

When I check the QVL for compatible memory on the Asus website for the Z87-PRO, I find this listing:

CORSAIR CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9(XMP) 8GB ( 2x 4GB ) DS - - 9-9-9-24 1.5 ● ● ●

However, when I use the Corsair Memory Finder program/app, that memory does not show as being compatible. Instead it gives the low-profile version:

Vengeance® Low Profile — 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9)

So at this point, I am thoroughly confused. It could be that your memory is not compatible or one...

Have you verified that the new RAM is compatible with your motherboard? You can do this by either viewing the motherboard's QVL for compatible memory (available on the motherboard's website) or by going to Corsair website and use their memory configurator program/app, just tell it your motherboard and it will list all compatible memory kits they make for it.

I checked that the memory was compatible before i brought it, the memory is on the compatible list.

Everything is set to auto detect; the timings, the speed, everything.

I'm assuming you have the tall modules with heat spreader, not the low-profile modules? Either way, it seems to me you will either need to contact Asus or Corsair to find out which one(s) are actually compatible with your motherboard. From the timing specs and operating voltage, I saw no difference, so I don't understand why the new memory is not working. Hope all this helps you out, sorry I couldn't be of more assistance :(
