I am going to be mining with two ASUS R9 280X DCUII TOP graphics cards. I already have a 650W Superflower Golden Green PSU (80+ gold rating). Clearly I'll be cutting things fine to run this setup, but do you think it's possible? What risks am I taking -- in terms of damage to the graphics cards, overheating PSU etc.

The rig will otherwise consist of:
AMD Sempron 145
ASRock Extreme 4 motherboard
4GB DDR 3 1600Mhz RAM

I'll disable onboard audio, SATA (and USB too if I can set up a network boot to run entirely in the RAM). So... is this do-able or should I just accept that I'm going to have to buy a new PSU?

you will suffer from system fails .... u need more watts ..

and as long as the cards are under 65 C . don't bother think about dmg to hardware .. u will find some scrypts there with good config for your mining

avoid dmg to the card .. caz long term heat simply kill the card ... and when you mine 24/7 ... lets say like 80C you decrease the lifespan of the card really fast

lets say it lives for 4 years u make that 2 .. and also the fans become slower by time ... look at 7790s and r9 270 ... they mine really cool .. if u really want the 280x get the saphhire toxic or gigabyte windforce they got best temps

as they are the top recommended cards to mine with since their strong and big coolers

Thanks for the advice. I already have the ASUS card so it's too late to get a better cooled one now. I'll probably let it run around 70C, lower than that and the fans get too noisy.
