I just got a Asus Radeon 6450 today to upgrade from my intergrated Nvidia 650se. I have major problems! I disabled the onboard graphics from the pc, then shut off the pc. I put the card in and installed the software on the disc it came with. I rebooted and then this is where problems started happening. I put my password in and was on the home screen. I was moving my mouse around when it stopped and froze. Now every time my pc starts up it does the same thing over and over again. I would really like some help as soon as I can get it. I am currently running in safe mode. I tried uninstalling the card and reinstalling the drivers but that didn't work. Any help soon would be appreciated.

Go back to integrated gfx again and get everything running properly. Then before installing the new card, run CCleaner and have it do the Clean and Registry portions both. That will get rid of any junk files and registry errors that may be the culprit. Let me know how many items it found in the Registry.

I had intergrated graphics from Nvidia and I didnt uninstall anything from them, could that be causing the problem? And would this revouninstaller tell me what would need to be uninstalled for the card to work? Thanks for you help by the way.

140! I think you found the problem. Yes do the fix, reboot, and run it again. Stay with the integrated video for now.

Okay, I fixed the issues and rebooted, I have no registry errors. What should I try and do now? Should I turn my intergrated graphics off and reinstall the card again? Or uninstall anything left from the card from before?

I went into my device manager and under display adapters I clicked on my intergrated graphics and clicked disable. When I first tried to install the card and my pc froze as soon as I started up I tried this and it still didn't work.

You shouldn't have to do that with integrated. If you are running on the integrated now and all is working properly in Windows, then shut down and install the card. Reboot and let Win (7?) install its default driver if it tries to. Don't install the new card's driver yet. Then see if all is well.

That's the name of the PC: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-X1420G-U5832-Athlon-Quad-Core/dp/B006K1VI5Y/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
These should be the specs for it: http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/motherboard-ax1420g-u5832-specs/
Your MB is a MCP61P which I think might be a Foxconn board. Does it look like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186189

Is this a new card or a used one? The card itself may be bad. It happens. Do you have access to another gfx card to try, a friend's?

I dont have any other cards to try, and the specs you have posted are correct but the board doesnt look like that. I am sure that I bought the card new. It came in all packaging with all the items like the install cd, manual. I really dont know what to do at this point.

I think I found a fix! I used the hdmi port instead of the VGA and DVI-I and it works!
