Lagging issues, need help please.

I frequently play online pc games such as Smite, LoL, DCUO, and others. Recently (about a month or so ago) I started to experience some hardcore lag in these games. when before I never had an issue with them. I got a new nic card but that didn't do the trick, so i got an ethernet cable and that didn't seem to do the trick either. I was wondering if anyone would have some insight on what may the problem?

Specs
OS: windows 8
RAM: 8 gigs
Processor: AMD A8-5500 APU with radeon HD graphics
Graphics: ^^

After playing a game of smite the hottest my processor got was 42.9 C, and the hottest the graphics got was 26 C. I was thinking that maybe my processor/gpraphics was failing, do you think that could be the problem?

Why would it be my power supply? Do you think the wattage isn't high enough for my components?

EDIT: The PSU is the one that game with the PC. I took out the NIC I installed ( even though I don't think it would be much of a difference) and was still lagging pretty heavily.
