I have been looking for a new graphics card and have thought about getting either a Geforce GTX 670 or 770
Right now there is a 670 on sale for 300$ where i live, while the GTX 770 costs 400$

So the question is as follows:

Is the GTX 770 worth 100$ more than the 670? (both performance vice, but also future proof)

I have a limit of 400$ to spend on a graphics card, but the 670 for 290$ just seems like a good deal.

Thanks in advance

there is a good difference between the 670 and the 770 http://www.hwcompare.com/14635/geforce-gtx-670-vs-gefor... and with the 700 series nvidia gpu's you also get gpu boost 2.0 which basicly lets you go over the standard clock speed. Example when you set your temperatures in evga precision x to like 80 degrees celsius maximum and no more than that, then it will do everything it can to perform best until it reaches 80 degrees celsius

Okay, the GPU boost sounds pretty sweet, but when i look at benchmarks it seems to average at 10 fps more than the GTX 670, which doesn't seem like that much. Mind you i have no requirement that the games have to be running at 60 fps , i am quite happy with 30-40 if need be (not that i would mind 60), and i never play in higher resolutions than 1920x1080 , so i guess i have to consider if GPU boost function and 7-10 fps more is worth a 100$

Well if those 10 fps doesn't really make a difference than i would shoot for the 670. My favorite hobby is pc and gaming and those 10 fps makes alot of difference for me but i wouldn't jump from a gtx 770 to a gtx 780 for 10 fps difference, for an example.

Okay, thanks a lot for the help, i think i will be going with a 770 then, probably a better solution for upcoming games aswell. Which 770 is the best choice in your opinion?

Asus, Gigabyte, Club3D, Evga ?

Asus and evga got almost same cooling solutions. The asus might run 2 degrees celsius cooler but i just love the evga customer support. asus and evga defeniently got the best cooling and i would choose the evga for the awesome customer support they have but its your choice :)
