Hello,

I am trying to complete a build I've been working on for some time now. However, this issue keeps stumping me. I installed my OS (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit) and I start to install the drivers that came with my motherboard CD (ASRock Extreme6 Z87).

I install the INF Driver first and reboot with no issue. However, when I install the ASMedia SATA3 Driver and reboot my Optical Drive disappears. I have an SSD with the OS on it and an HDD - both are configured to AHCI as I can't see a way to set the SSD to AHCI and the HDD to IDE.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

It appears there are 6 Intel SATA ports and 4 ASMedia SATA ports. Installing the Intel drivers first seems to have done the trick.

Update: Nevermind. The optical drive appears sometimes and not others. I have the drive on an ASMedia port, I'm thinking of moving it to an Intel port.
