So Lately I have had 2 monitors, a big 27" 1080p 16:9 2ms 120hz monitor, and a 17" 1024p 4:3 5ms 60hz monitor as a secondary. Today I just got a 3rd monitor, the same one as the 17". I have 2 R9 270X's so plugs are not a problem. The only thing is, I can't get the third monitor to go on. My original 27" is running off of DVI, and so is my running 17". But the new 17" only has a vga slot and my graphics cards don't have a vga, so i did a vga to dvi converter, and plugged the converted 3rd monitor into the 2nd graphics card (crossfire is enabled). But it does not show up and if i detect monitors in windows or catalyst it does not work. I tried using HDMI on my main 27' and than DVI for the one 17" and converted vga to dvi all on the same graphics card but it is still not seeing it. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a certain way I have to plug them in? Thanks for the help.

you have AMD cards. AMD is a bitch. they force you to use DisplayPort for the 3rd output of any graphics card. AMD will burn in hell for this.

you need to either buy a proper active DisplayPort-to-___ adapter, or disable crossfire and run the main screen from one card and the other two screens from the other card (then, you can use all DVI and not worry about DisplayPort)
