I received a used Macbook Pro 17'' from a friend. I will upgrad the hard drive to an SSD. Would it be possible to install Windows 7 on the new ssd without migrating anything from the old hard drive and just use it as a windows laptop?
I could be wrong but if you want to run Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro you would probably be better off to install OSX first and then install Windows 7 from something like Boot Camp (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1461).

Ok. I was hoping I could get rid of the apple os all together. I just really don't like it. but If I need it for firm ware updates I guess this is the best solution. Thanks.
