Should Minecraft be lagging with this PC with decent specs

Hey guys, from the very start I got this PC, Minecraft ran fine at 60fps with settings set to fancy. I had no problem. Even with other games too, it ran like a charm.

But now over the past weeks, the game kept decreasing to 56fps then to 40fps then sometime it might go down to 20fps. After playing for a few minutes, it would go away. But now it just stays here, there is tons of lag everywhere and when I try to record with fraps, its hopeless. It use to run fine with fraps but now its complete crap. Maybe because Im playing on a server but it wasn't this laggy before. Is something memory hogging my PC, I've updated all my drivers, updated Java, defragged my system, allocated more ram to Minecraft (Which seemed to make it worse) and I've installed Optifine.

Here are my specs
Machine name: COMPUTER-PC

Woah, you're using integrated graphics on a 1st-gen i3?
I'm not too familiar with Minecraft's system requirements, but maybe you should try lowering the in-game graphics settings.
Have you installed any other mods besides optifine (it could be those)?

EDIT: There's apparently a bug in the new 1.6.2 launcher that reduces performance for Intel HD Graphics by as much as 75%
You might just have to wait until it's fixed, or downgrade to an older version.

Could you tell us your settings in minecraft? @plutoclacks: i have a medium to low end machine, other than the GPU sirjosh far outweighs me, i have run minecraft with about 30 mods all at once, mods (unless coded terribly) do not typically affect performance

My video settings in minecraft? Well graphics are set to fancy (Before it would just run good 60 frames with this), Smooth lighting is minimum, render distance is 8 chunks, I've maxed out my framerate, particles are all on, vsync is on (I'm not entirely sure what this does), always on fullscreen, mipmap levels off and anisotropic filtering is turned off

For one you should definitely turn vsync off. Vsync locks your framerate to even factors of your monitor's refresh rate (which is usually 60hz) to eliminate screen tearing. What this means is that vsync will lock your framerate to 30fps if you are getting anything between 30 and 60fps, even 59. This very well could be the cause of your problem.
Otherwise, as I mentioned before, there is a bug in the most recent version of minecraft that causes a performance dip with Intel chips. You might want to downgrade to a previous version for now to maintain that silky-smooth 60.

Hey pluto, for some reason it seems to be even more laggy when vsync is off. I dont know why but it seems to help when turned on, still laggy though. I got my PC in the 1.7.2 update, it ran smooth but now it lags. I don't know whats changed. Minecraft seems to be the only laggy game on my PC, the rest run fine (Even when recording)
