Okay so i have a 8350 installed on a ASROCK 970. I wanted to get a better mobo but at the time i was getting both the items on sale, thats all they had in stock and it was with in my budget. Now i am going bit back and forth when it comes to overclocking due to the temps that i am getting. Like when i just surf the net and i like to have LOTS of tabs opened on Chrome and Firefox with most of them being high res video.. is it normal to have 55c to about 63c in this type of load? I have a ANTEC 920 cooling and i would think this would be enough for cooling? In both AUTO/stock settings VS Overclocking setting of 4200mhz on my CPU chip i get about the same temp reading 4200mhz being bit higher on the temps.. is that normal or i am just being paranoid?

I ran p95 on stock/auto settings i get about 65c max, with OC settings of 4200mhz i get about 67c MAX... is this normal? I have read that as long i don't go over 70c in p95blend i should be okay?

That's pretty hot! Since you have water cooling, I have to assume something is seriously wrong. My 8350 is considerably cooler idling ( 4 screens, lots of programs open all the time ) at 27C with an 120mm air cooler with dual 120mm fans. My typical gaming temps are around 42C to 46C. 54C max on burn test. I would do a basic disassemble, clean, re-apply thermal paste and see how things are. Check the radiator for clogs with dust.

Thanks for the reply.. ya i am wondering why it is getting so hot just for surfing the net.. like right now with no video playing in the background and me replying to your post as i type i am looking at my temps it is reading around 48c to 52c, which seems normal to me for this kind of stuff.. but when i play high res online video on like Youtube it goes high as 65c at times.. I thought that would be normal for an high res video? I to have dual 120mm that came with my new ANTEC 920 cooling system.. do you think it could be the thermal paste that i got? It is a Deep Cool Z5 thermal paste brand, got it for 5buks vs the small Artic 10dollar thermal paste, do you think that could be the problem? I am 2morow going to re install the cooling unit and see if that is the issue or not..
