Slow download speed on new laptop

I just got a g750jh ASUS laptop and when i started to download my games from steam i was getting a Internet speed around 200 KB/s compared to my older laptop i was getting 1.5-2.0 MB/s when I checked speedtest.net i was getting 2.8 mb/s on this computer and 15.4 mb/s on my older one i have tried to reinstall my drivers, turning off my firewall and rebooted my router also my upload speed is not affected. i don't know what to do.

brandon if the asus laptop uses intel network card there is a know bug with there software packaged with the network card software. try booting into safe mode with network support if your network speed goes up. use msconfig turn every thing off in start up. see if the network card works better in normal mode. if it does turn on one program at a time till it slows down again.

I tried to do speed test in safe mode and I get the exact same speed on this machine as before
