Upgrading Dell Inspiron 1525 CPU

Hello all,

I'm trying to change my 5 y/o laptop's CPU. Here's the stats.

My system:

Dell Inspiron 1525
XP Pro [would Windows 7 be worth it?]
Intel Core2 Duo CPU
T5550 @ 1.83GHz
4Gigs RAM
Processor x86 family 6 model 15 stepping 13
BIOS Version A17 [should I upgrade this?]
SMBIOS Version 2.4
Want to upgrade max allowed CPU on this laptop. [is it worth it?]

Was recommended:
Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T9550, 2.6Ghz, 6Mb, 1066MHz

Is there a better CPU?

last i've read is you have to go 800mhz fsb or lower so t9500 was max
