I need some input on buying a new monitor for gaming. I've been using my TV for a while now, but I feel as if it's not good enough, both in quality(only 1320 x 768 res) and also due to the fact that I can't stay too close to it. So I'm in the market for a new monitor. So far I've got my eye on Acer S275HL bmii Black 27" 6ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 ACM , and I want to know if I can get something better for around the same price. My budget is $300. Thanks

Not very keen on Acer quality, but I like some of the Asus monitors. This one has the specs that I would desire, although I've never used/seen it.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Better contrast, better brightness, better response rate, DVI/HDMI and VGA. $250.

The change in resolution may bring the pain to your system if your GPU isn't up to it. Its roughly 2x as many pixels as your previous screen.

Awesome thanks, that one is much better than the one I picked before, and a bit cheaper too. I'm sure my GPU can handle it though, I have an Nvidia GTX 660 TI. So it should be good enough to handle 1920x1080.

Your GPU is fine for 1080p. You may have to lower detail and or remove AA though.
