Hi,

Been having problems with getting a gtx 650 ti working in a zoostorm pc.

Changed the power supply on the pc (corsair 500)and installed the graphics card as above, but had a black screen when turning on, went into bios for onboard graphics, it was defaulted on auto, I turned it to PEG - still didn't work, but when i turned it to IGFX i could finally get on the system through the motherboard vga connection. From there i managed to install the Nvidia drivers and followed the boot into safe mode instructions from another thread which are below i found and got it working through the graphics card VGA......or so i thought. i hadn't restarted the pc again until this morning, and when i turned it on again, got the black screen again, so i have followed the instructions below to get it back on again. I've also tried going back into bios and changing the IGFX to PEG or AUTO but it won't let me on the pc at all without IGFX enabled or the pci-e cable unplugged. So basically i have to follow the options above every time i want to play a game? Surely there is a fix for this?? Any help would be appreciated. Basically am a bit of a noob but i've managed to use some of the threads on here to get it working to a point.

(1. Turn off the computer and unplug
2. Remove Graphic card
3. Plug the monitor to your video output
4. Turn on the computer
5. Click on start and type msconfig
6. Select the Boot tab and click on the box that says Safe boot with minimal selected.
7. Apply then click ok.
8. DO NOT RESTART.
9. Shut Down computer and unplug
10. Install Graphic card
11. Turn on the computer (should boot into safe mode)
12. Go into Device Manager
13. Expand Display Adapter
14. Disable the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 driver. (DO NOT UNINSTALL)
15. Click the start button and type msconfig
16. Unclick Safe boot
17. Restart

The computer will restart normally and will no longer get the black screen. See if that works for you. I didn't mess with any setting in the bios. I am assuming that having two graphic driver install don't like to play well with each other :)

Thanks for the tip.

On most systems, when an add-on graphics card is detected during system boot, the on-board one is automatically disabled in the BIOS to avoid a resource conflict. It's long been known that two graphics drivers don't work together, hence the automatic disable feature.
It's always worked that way for me and I must have installed dozens of add-on graphics cards over 18 years.
Never had to mess with the BIOS settings.

The fact that your BIOS doesn't seem able to do that is very unusual, but at least you finally got round it.
