Hi everyone Please be patient with me and read what i have written. I know its a lot but i wanted to give you guys ll the details
I just got a fairly new laptop less than a week old. I recently updated to Windows 8.1 single language from the windows store. After the update i got an error saying that " Catalyst Control centre cannot be started" when i clicked on configure switchable graphics. I fixed that by going to C/Program Files/AMD/CCC/Install/ccc2_install

But now that the catalyst control centre is working it is not switching the graphics card for games. It
is running it on my Intel HD 4000 graphics card and the games are lagging eventhough I went to the catalyst control centre and set the game for high performance.

I tried disabling my Intel HD 4000 graphics card from the device manager but after a couple of minutes I get an error saying " No amd graphics driver installed or is not functioning properly. Please install the amd driver appropiate for your amd software." After this error message when i click on configure switchable graphics I get an error saying " Catalyst Control Centre cannot be started" I then reinstall the control centre by going to C/Program Files/AMD/CCC/Install/ccc2_install.

But after all this my graphics card is still not working eventhough there is no yellow warning icon on my Radeon HD 8670M in device manager. All games continue to run on the Intel HD 4000 graphics card.Everything was working fine on WIndows 8 but after the update to 8.1 Im having these problems

The laptop I have is "HP Pavilion 15 E057se
Specs
intel core i5 3230 2.6ghz
4gb RAM
Radeon HD 8670M graphics card 2gb dedicated
Intel HD 4000 graphics card

Please help me resolve this issue. Thanks a lot

@guggi4 Can you please give steps on how to do it. Because when i went to device manager and tried to update the raedon driver i ended up getting a black screen while booting up and i had to boot into safe mode and do a system restore

So step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.
Oh and when i click on update drivers for Raedon HD 8670M. And click on choose from the internet it says that they are up to date

your screen may flicker a bit, but you shouldnt get a blackscreen. Normally the programm tells you what to do, if it says it needs a reboot after the deinstallation, do it, if not, its no mistake to reboot.
so, just to do it in a save way: Deinstall the drivers -> reboot into save mode -> run driver sweeper ->reboot into normal mode -> install the new drivers -> reboot

Ok now i have something else to share with u.
After the update of the drivers when I right click on my desktop there is no configurable switchable graphics option.
they only have catalyst control centre which has nothing on it besides information about my hardware and software.
I do not have any options to optimize performance while on differenent power sources.
Should I go to C/Program Files/AMD/CCC2/Install/ccc2_install
