■ I just finisheed by first build and I believe I have encoutered a rather severe problem. My CPU is running at 58 degrees celsius when idle, on the BIOS screen, according to my BIOS (MSI BIOS II). I am using the bitfenix prodigy M as my case, and the default AMD CPU fan. Is ths a normal temperature untill I install the drivers, or should I be worried?

Solution

no its not that you have installed anything its that the bios usually stress the cpu, so temps will rise in a UEFI bios so the temperatures will go up, maybe i worded that wrong it doesnt stress it but it makes the CPU work not like 100% but enough to make temps rise and the AMD cpu stock fan is absolute crap, so its a combination of both.

well being the case you have you could go for a great sealed liquid cooling kit and that would FANTASTIC, But..that if your budget allows a great choice would be something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181036 and put it on the top this is top of the line closed liquid cooling and would give you outstanding temps

if you cant afford that try this one it will give you amazing temps either way http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181036

and if you dont like that price check out this one that i own and i have to say it is quite amazing

Thanks mate, I'm not sure I would trust myself installing water into a computer just yet. You've been supremely helpful overall, is there some way to give reputation on this forum?

just by selecting best answer :) but hey i was worried myself but it perfectly fine they are closed looped systems so you really dont deal with the water, i uninstall mine ever so often to clean out the dust and its fine dont let that stop you from buying them
