Any reason to buy memory above 1600mhz?

RAM speed (and timing) all count towards faster performance; although with faster speeds, it's less noticeable over overclocking a CPU/GPU. Difference really isn't that big, and only APUs really benefit from faster RAM.

What cpu are you using?
In general, amd benefits from faster ram, intel does not. Think 2% in real app performance vs. synthetic benchmarks.

If you are using integrated graphics, faster ram helps some, but a discrete graphics card will hemp massively more.
