Hi guys,

Pretty new to this but i have purchased some ram listed in the title, when i installed it into the asus amd motherboard its was running 1600mhz on the auto settings which says the machine will set it lower, so i set the ram at 2133mhz and left everything else to auto, rebooted and would not post.

Tried again but set the voltage to 1.65 as stated in the asus manual, the machine then posted. Installed windows and returned 2 errors - ' Kernal mode exception not handled' and 'critical process died' although i did realise i had installed my 32 bit version of windows 8 rather than the 64 bit version.

The machine seemed fine before it returned the error and this was around 2 mins after the final reboot of installation.

Now is this my ram unstable or is it due to the 32bit version of windows. In the bios all voltages looked stable no spikes or rises on 500w cooler master elite.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

It may have posted but that does not mean it was working ok.
You should test for stability with Memtest before you attempt to do a windows install at this setting.

Or you could leave the Bios on default settings at 1600 and do the windows install like that.

Do not try to install windows unless you are sure that it is stable.

I do not think that error is because you installed the 32 bit version.

check the voltage, and timings of your ram (it should be on the module). also make sure your mobo can support 2133 clock speed. Go to your bios and set the voltage, clock, then timings to how your module runs. (example of timing incase you dont know what to look for would be 7-7-7-20)
Also you should install the 64 bit version of windows..

What's the actual model number of the DRAM - chances are slim that you can run all 4 on AMD at 2133 (1866 is a maybe) should be able to run them at 1600, would need CPU and OC if any along with the model # of the DRAM to provide likely timing settings for optimal use
