I'm looking for some advice or suggestions... I recently purchased an
EVGA GTX 650 ti 2GB Video card...
so far it doesn't work with what I have
Win 7 32 bit (and vista 64 bit on another hard drive that I forgot to try before yanking the vid card out)
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual processor 6400+
4 GB corsair ram (2gb ea)
Biostar TA 780G m2+
Cooler master 500w psu (dedicated 6pin to the video card)
Case: COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW

I'm really looking for processor/motherboard and Ram possibly... I just really want to play STO online so I'm not looking for anything that needs to be over clocked or raided. I'm just looking for something that will run the video card/sto and give me a year or two where I won't have to buy new stuff. I'm basically updating a computer that was given to me so working with what I have without breaking my bank.

I'm currently looking at this mobo:
MSI Z77MA-G45 LGA 1155 Intel Z77
CPU:
Intel Core i5-3470 Ivy Bridge 3.2GHz (3.6GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2500 BX80637i53470
RAM:
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

I really don't need/want a micro borad, but so far this one seems to have just about what I need as far as usb/sata/and front connections and it's a price i can deal with while still being a newer socket. I am not opposed to AMD, I just can't tell whats newer or older. I'm not even sure if I really need what I'm looking at so it's possible I could go a little older and pay a little less...
thanks in advance for your help!!
